I read some articles on the new law that would censor the internet and it seems like a bad idea. Website like youtube and other website you use daily could be blcoked. Emali providers migh have to censor what you send out and recieve. And social media websites may censor what you put on others pages. The scairest thing for me is that this type of censorship is used in China, Iran and Syria. Im not sure if I feel comfetable having the government monitor everything I do. The only thing good about it is it would stop illegal downlaoading of music and movies.
Ancient Alien Theroy

The ancient alien theroy aks the question, What if life on Earth began in outer space? It sounded crazy to me too, but after watching several of the episodes on the History Channel, my opinion changed. Some of the evidence that they came up with seems a little corny and hard to believe, but most seems vaild to me.
Here is an overview about the theroy from the History Channel : Millions of people accept this theory that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago and were worshiped as gods by primitive man. Are monuments like Stonehenge and Easter Island the last remains of an ancient alien visitation? From unexplainable super structures, to knowledge of the solar system, mathematics, and even the ability to make electricity, this special explores evidence of super-human influences on ancient man and embarks on an around-the-world search for answers. It’s an investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNy9wJvV9dU
Missing School

I find the saying the “grass is always greener on the other side,” to be completely true. A good example of it is when you miss school. Missing days of school always is more of a hassle than anything else. I wake up feeling sick and then after a while I start to feel like I could have gone to school. However, when I am sick and go to school anyway, I always wish I was home. The grass is always greener.
Lucid Dreaming Article

I was reseraching lucid dreams and i stumbled upon two interesting articles, they were both about recent studies done by scientist. They had people who claimed to be able to lucid dream hooked up to a machine and then tested their brain activity. Only 2 of the 6 test studies were able to pull it off. The tests revealed increased activity in a brain region important for movement called the sensorimotor cortex. When the dreamer squeezed his right hand, in his dream the left side of his brain’s sensorimotor cortex had increased activity. They also did the same test when the person was awake and conlcuded that the brain has the same activty, whether thier dreaming it or actually performing it. This amazed me becasue it shows how powerful the brain is. Without phisically moving your hand the brain still thinks that its moving in a dream.

Dreaming

After talking about dreams in class, it reminded me of a dream i used to get all the time when I was younger. In elementary school I Dreamed that my dad was taking me to California for some thing, I still dont know where. Evertime we were about to cross this bridge, we would fall of and I would wake up feeling my stomach drop. To this day I can still remember that dream specifically, which makes me wonder why I remember this one. Does it have a meaning? Or is it simply my brain wondering?
Trolly Problem

This is an easy question for me, I would spare the lifes of five and change the path of the trolly to hit only one person. However, i can see why people might choose differntly. When you you add other variables like the fat guy, my opinion changes. Why is this? When thinking about it I couldnt come up with a logical answer to why I would pull the lever and not push the fat man. I feel that pushing the man is murder, but if I pull the lever then any thing could happen.
Question 3: Purpose of Life
October 26th, 2011 by esaller24 · No Comments · Uncategorized
After researching philosophers views on the meaning of life it made my initial thought more clear. There were hundreds of different views from different philosophers and religions. It got me thinking that every person has a different view of their purpose on the earth. For example, Life’s purpose in Christianity is to seek divine salvation through the grace of God and go to heaven. If you are not religious than you tend to make up your own meaning or not have one at all.

Monopoly at Mcdonalds

Yesterday I went to McDonald’s not only to eat but to get monopoly pieces. I have been playing this game at McDonald’s for a few years and I have noticed that I get the same pieces over and over again. I ge one away from winning and seem never to get that pieces. The instant winners are always the same too. A medium fry or any breakfast sandwhich. What a scam.
